Quilted Nail Art

I absolutely love Chanel quilted bags, which was why I wanted to create a nail art inspired by the quilt design. I didn't go for the classic black, just because I thought it would be more fun with color. At first, I tried to do it with various different colours, but it didn't turn out too well. Out of all them, purple looked the best to me so I took the rest of the colours off and did a purple quilted design instead. My goal of this design was to try to make it look 3D by adding the shading. I think it turned out quite well and on top of that it's super easy to do!

September Julep Maven Sneak Peek *Spoiler*

Looks like Julep Maven September Sneak Peek came earlier than anticipated, which is a totally awesome thing in my books. I was browsing around on the computer at work when I came across this blog post from Living Lovely. So this month, Julep is collaborating with fashion brand Trina Turk to bring us these September colors. I've never heard of her before, but from viewing their website this designer uses a lot of bold colors and prints. She does everything from fashion to bedding.

As some of you may know, Julep also introduced suede polishes that are currently available in Sephora (in the US). Since many of us speculated that they may be in our September box, this preview put that rumor to rest. I guess we will possibly see them in our October Julep Maven boxes. As you can tell the featured product, aside from their colors, are mascaras. I love how Julep is expanding their beauty line! The brown mascara is for lengthening and the black mascara is for volumizing. I usually just stick with black. So these are colors available to us in September. Which one are you most excited for?

Olympics Inspired Nail Art (Women's Gymnastic Edition)

What the heck? Olympics came and gone just like that! I just realize the first thing I always say on my post is how fast time has gone by! Ever since I started my very first "career" or as I like to call it my "Big Girl" job, I've been getting very little down time. Work and sleep consumes me. Anyways, I tried to have an easy and relaxed weekend. I went to Taste on Danforth to get some delicious Greek food and I really hoping to go Pottery Painting in that area too! One friend couldn't fit in the time and the other one wanted to go only if the other friend went. Ever since all the pottery painting places closed down in my hometown, I've been wanting to find another place. I found out that the closest one to my Toronto home is on the Danforth called The Clay Room and I was really hoping to do that and go to Taste on Danforth again with my friends today. That didn't happen but whatever, at least I went!

Anyways, we ended up feeling lazy after brunch so we just hung out at my place and watched the closing ceremony. Since I had some creative energy in me from not going pottery painting, I decided to do nail art. I mentioned on my last post that I wanted to fit in one more Olympic nail art before it was officially over. So this nail art is inspired by Women's Artistic Gymnastics suits, I'm not too sure what the proper term for them is.

August Julep Maven Review

Man oh man! This month is going by super duper quick! I recently started a new job and so far I really like it! I think now that I have a routine, time seems to go so much faster. Anyways, since it's almost mid-August, I really want to get a blog post up! Anyways, I have been receiving my Glossyboxes the past couple month, but I stopped blogging about it. Why? Just because I'm simply unimpressed and I don't think it's worth spending my time to talk about. They give out way too many drug store brands, and I just don't think it's worth the $15. Since I keep forgetting to cancel, I will be expecting an August box (which I paid for) and a September box to finally use up all my Glossydots (right now, I'm 80 points short). Also, Loose Button members will be expecting their first seasonal box! My hopes are up just because Loose Button is capable of wowing us. That I will definitely make time to blog about! I hope I have time tonight to squeeze in one more Olympic-inspired nail art. I'm thinking uniform inspired! Stay tuned for that.

This month Julep celebrated their one year anniversary. For this special occasion, they hosted a digital party giving out a bunch of free prizes and changed their usual black packaging to pink! They wrapped everything in a white tissue with silver confetti. If you notice, they do fall off rather easily, but try to save them because they make really great nail decor! 

This month's bonus item was a Julep tote or in a less fancy term, reusable bag. It's a lot smaller than I expected, nonetheless I think it is pretty cute and handy. It's good to stuff in your purchase when you're out to make small purchases. Right now, I am using it as a lunch bag.
