Halloween Nails

On my giveaway post, I asked "what kind of nail art would you like to see on my blog?" A lot of people requested Halloween nails! My initial ideas were gory nails or rotten nails, but unfortunately I didn't have the colors for them. I tried mixing some polishes together, but it didn't achieve the color that I wanted. I turned to google for some inspiration, I looked up a general Halloween nail art and then character themed nails. If you're long-time reader of my blog, you know how I like my nail art complex. The ones that are shown in the top images of Google were way to cute for me, so I ended up googling individual characters. So this was what I came up with! I honestly think this is one of my best work. It took quite a long time to do and my neck actually hurts, but I think it worth it. I hope you like it!

Pumpkin, Zombie, Wicked Witch, Dracula, and Frankenstein

I did Frankenstein first, so I find that it looks the best because a little more time was put into the shading and facial lines. Next I did Dracula and Wicked Witch, which were difficult to do because of the eyes but I think it turned out okay. Finally on my pinky, I did Zombie nails, which kind of looks like a deranged clown. My favorite one is my pumpkin thumb! My short nail shaped the pumpkin perfectly. Since the pumpkin is on the easier side, I can definitely do a tutorial for it in my next post.

Here are the images that I used to recreate the characters on my nails. This is all done with a bunch of nail polishes and a nail art brush. That's it that's all! If you're looking to buy some nail art brushes, you can buy them HERE for a really good price! I use the red brush for almost all my nail art, so if you're just getting into nail art, this is a pretty good brush to use. If you use the code: NVL91 you can get 10% off your purchase.

Also, I got some exciting news! I entered Julep's Breast Cancer Awareness Nail Art Contest on Instagram and won! Apparently the grand prize is Julep's entire Pink collection. I wonder if it means all 24 polishes in their Pink Category. Either way, I can't wait to get that package and play with all the colors.
