Balenciaga Cherry Blossom Nail Art

I've been doing nail art ever since I received my very first Konad Nail Stamping Kit when I was 14. I'm 22 now, so I've had a lot of practice and a growing collection of image plates. But there are so many people out there who can put my collection to shame. Most of my nail art posts will show you how I manipulate the image plates to resemble high-end fashion print patterns. I'm not going to lie, most of my inspiration comes from the clothes that Blair Waldorf wears on Gossip Girl. What can I say, they have an amazing stylist who knows how to combine different patterns and colours brilliantly! I wish I can afford all her clothes, but for now painting it on my nails will just have to do. I hope you enjoy this post and please follow my blog as I create more work of nail art.

The inspiration of this nail art comes from Season 4 of Gossip Girl, Episode 87 "The Wrong Goodbye".  Blair wears a beautiful Balenciaga Cherry Blossom dress and accessorizes with a chunky crystal bead necklace. I absolutely love the floral print and that's what I decided to replicate on my nail.

Balenciaga Cherry Blossom Dress

Materials:
  • Grey nail polish
  • White nail polish
  • Konad Special Polish in light pink, pink, and rose pink
  • Konad stamper and scraper
  • Konad M65 nail plate
  • Dotter tool
  • Toothpick

Tip: You should always stamp with Konad special nail polish. These nail polishes are a lot thicker and opaque than normal nail polishes. These polish are meant for nail stamping only and it should not be used a base color or else it will never dry.

Instructions:

  1.  Paint a white base coat and allow it to dry.
  2. On the M65 image plate, dab a few dots of the light pink, pink, and rose pink nail polish in a random pattern. This is to replicate shading.
  3. Scrape the access nail polish off and transfer the image onto the stamp, then onto your nail.
  4. Use a toothpick, dab it into the grey polish and draw in thin branches.
  5. With a dotter tool (or round end of a bobby pin), place rose pink dots in areas with large white space.
  6. Finally allow your nail to dry and place a top coat.

I hope you enjoy my first blog post! Stay tuned for others.
